Welcome to Pioneer Fossils!
A Certificate of Authenticity will accompany this specimen.
Here is a superb fossil clam, Mercanaria Mercanaria, from Rucks Pit, near Okeechobee, Florida.
From about 1.8 to 2.2 million years ago.
This specimen features both halves of a clam shell.   One half is a beautiful white with great detail with the middle area loaded with golden calcite. The other half is a nearly complete white half-shell.
The clam itself is about 4.6 inches wide,  and it weighs 1 lb. 4.7 oz.
The shell and calcite glow under UV light.
We invite you to visit our store, which can be accessed on the right
side of the top page. Once inside our store, you will see about a thousand
items for sale, and we hope you will love them.
We sell items ranging from budget
to world-class.
If you like what we have to offer, PLEASE favorite us! It is the
easiest way for you to look us up in the future.
You will receive the exact item described and photographed, unless
clearly stated otherwise.
COMBINED SHIPPING:  We make every effort to combine shipping
costs and we refund any overpayment back to you, on the same day we ship the
item.  We have given hundreds of partial refunds for combined
shipping savings.  We will do our best to combine purchases to save
shipping costs. In some cases, that is easy, in some cases, not as
much.  Our items are of vastly different sizes and weights, but we never
use shipping as a profit center.  We would rather refund the shipping
overpayment back to you, and have a happy buyer.
We are happy to enclose a COA (Certificate of
Authenticity).  Some words of caution about COA’s: Do not let them
become a substitute for learning about the specimens. We have been working with
fossils and minerals for many years, and we have seen hundreds of very
nice-looking COA’s, some that are wrong, mis-describing a specimen. In
addition, the person selling the item is often the one who writes the COA
(potential conflict of interest). Finally, a COA, without a photo of the exact
specimen on the COA itself,  is worthless, as it can later be placed
next to any other fossil or mineral.  We suggest that in addition to
relying on a COA, that people read and study the subject.

With
this type of specimen, a tiny number of particles may come off in shipping, but
not enough to hurt the beauty of the piece.
We wrap these very carefully and securely.  If this does not work with you, please do not
order.
